Data Science/AI Research Seed Grant

About:
This track is for individual UM faculty members or faculty-led UM teams to conduct research projects related to data science or Artificial Intelligence (AI). Diverse teams of faculty from different disciplines and program affiliations within UM are encouraged to apply. Staff with an Instructor role are also welcome to apply.

Competitive applications will propose a research project related to data science/AI, with a strategy/vision for pursuing follow-on external funding.

Data Science/AI Professional Development Grant

About:
This track is for UM faculty and staff to pursue professional development activities in the area of data science/AI. Applications are sought from current UM faculty and staff from a wide variety of backgrounds, disciplines, and program affiliations. Graduate students and Undergraduate research assistants may apply, provided a signed letter of support written by a UM faculty member overseeing the professional development activities is submitted with the application.

Data Science and AI Fellowship

About:
Students must be enrolled full-time in a research-based PhD or Masters program at the time of application. Students must remain enrolled in the program and maintain good standing throughout the duration of the proposed research project. Research projects must be relevant to data science and/or artificial intelligence and must be mentored by a UM faculty member.
